Development Support Case Study

“After a rather challenging set of Employee Satisfaction Survey results last year, Sarah & Mike of Potential Unearthed offered to help us get our business and our people back on track and actively engaged again with our business and our ambitions.

After spending time in our working environment and chatting to individuals at all levels to ensure they really understood what we are about and to ensure input/buy-in to the project, Potential Unearthed created a comprehensive 12 month ‘Team Development Action Plan’ which identified immediate quick wins, short, medium and longer term goals for LSP and Potential Unearthed to work on together. This included a range of development interventions, starting at the top with Executive One to One Coaching for me as the CEO and for each member of our Senior Leadership Team, which proved to be instrumental in helping us to focus on the work that lay ahead.

Further assistance included –

  • Help with the roll out of re-defining roles and responsibilities to ensure clarity at all levels
  • Facilitation of an in-depth ‘Meeting Tree’ analysis which reviewed all communications across the business with a view to defining and improving them
  • The roll out of a modular Management Development training programme which focussed on key areas identified for improvement, including culture & behaviours, workplace communications and consistent performance management.
  • A whole business ‘Team Day’ which focussed on culture, behaviours and communication.

At key stages throughout the project, Mike and Sarah maintained regular contact with us to help us embed the positive changes that we were visibly making and to ensure that we knew how to sustain the new behaviours we were seeing across the business. They challenged us to stick to our goals and I’m extremely happy to say that their support and guidance to date has been invaluable to us in helping us to achieve what we set out to do.

A year on and with our development journey well underway, our latest Employee Satisfaction Survey has seen vast and tangible improvements on last year’s results. These results are not just evident on paper but in the significant positive shift that we’ve seen in the business and most importantly, in our people and a much healthier and happier working atmosphere.

Both Sarah and Mike have a clear passion for what they do and their enthusiasm, knowledge and experience in their field have without doubt contributed significantly to helping us achieve our goals. We still have some way to go and are currently busy setting our year two goals with Potential Unearthed, but I’m more confident than ever that we will continue to build on the hard work everyone’s put in to date.
